The Smart Traveler's Checklist
In your Wallet:
- 2 international credit cards (different issuers)
- additional ID-card (not your passport)
- frequent flyer card
- 100 USD in cash
- 100 USD equivalent in foreign currency
- travel insurance card
On your body:
- current passport (should be valid at least 6 months after you intend to leave the country)
- Airline Ticket (prefer physical paper ticket - otherweise printout of e-ticket with confirmation code and booking number)
- Emergency Info Paper (for details see our 6 Essential Tips for Paranoid Travelers)
- Cell phone (battery should be fully charged)
In your hand lunggage:
- A travel guide on the country you are visiting
- a small dictionary with the language spoken in the country
- A book to read
- A Sweat-Shirt (Usualy it's cold on airplanes - when you sleep your body cools down even more)
- A Walkman, CD-Player, i-pod or equivalent (charge before boarding - usually you can only recharge in business class)
- A copy of your passport
- map of the city you are going to
- Aspirin (some airlines refuse to give you - or make you sign a paper before)
